A New Chapter for Colégio de São José in Beja

In September, the Gaudium Magnum Foundation – Maria and João Cortez de Lobão joined the school community of Colégio de São José in Beja for the inauguration of the Polo Nossa Senhora da Conceição, new facilities created in response to the school’s continued growth.

The Foundation has supported the work of APECEF – Associação para a Educação, Cultura e Formação for several years, including through its scholarship programme at Colégio de São Tomás, and was pleased to contribute to this new stage in the development of Colégio de São José in Beja.

Since opening in 2021, Colégio de São José has experienced significant growth, creating the need for additional space and the opportunity to welcome students across a broader range of year groups. The new facilities allow the school to expand into lower secondary education, with students now able to continue through to the 7th grade.

The inauguration took place on the first day of the new academic year, bringing together students, families and members of the school community. The Foundation was warmly welcomed by representatives of APECEF and Colégio de São José, who presented the new facilities and shared the school’s plans for this new stage.

The Foundation was pleased to be among the patrons whose support helped make the expansion possible and to see the new facilities welcoming students at the beginning of the academic year.

This new chapter in the development of Colégio de São José reflects the Gaudium Magnum Foundation’s continued commitment to supporting educational initiatives that create lasting opportunities for young people and their communities.
