Tommaso Borgogelli

Art historian specialising in Caravaggesque, Flemish and Dutch painting

Tommaso Borgogelli is an art historian specialising in Caravaggesque, Flemish and Dutch painting, with a particular focus on the artistic exchange between naturalismand classicism in Italy and the Low Countries. He has published widely on these subjects in leading scholarly journals and has collaborated on several major exhibitions, including those devoted to Orazio Borgianni, Cecco del Caravaggio, andthe Italian years of Hendrick ter Brugghen. He is the author of the first monograph dedicated to the Dutch painter Johannes van Bronchorst(1627–1656).
