Joaquim Caetano
Art historian specialising in Portuguese painting, formerly Director at Museu Nacional de Arte Antiga, Lisbon
Joaquim Oliveira Caetano, Portuguese, is an art historian and has published regularly since 1983. He served as director of the Museum of Évora from 2000 to 2010 and of the Museu Nacional de Arte Antiga (National Museum of Ancient Art) in Lisbon from 2019 to 2025. He taught at the Higher School of Decorative Arts and at the University of Évora, and currently teaches at the Higher School of Art and Design. He has curated several exhibitions in Portugal, Spain, and France.
