The Gaudium Magnum Foundation joins Classic Art London for Private Passion / Public Project, a panel discussion exploring the evolving role of private collections and patronage in contemporary cultural life. Taking place at Burlington House, London, on 30 June 2026, the event brings together representatives of leading private collections to discuss how collecting, stewardship, and long-term cultural investment can develop into public-facing initiatives that support research, education, and wider access to cultural heritage.

This event forms part of a wider London programme organised by the Gaudium Magnum Foundation from 30 June to 3 July 2026. Through a series of talks, exhibitions, and scholarly initiatives, the programme highlights the Foundation’s commitment to the international promotion of Portuguese cultural heritage, with a particular focus on Josefa de Óbidos and the Portuguese Baroque.

The panel will feature Valentina Rossi (Gaudium Magnum Foundation – Maria and João Cortez de Lobão), Amparo Martinez-Russotto (The Klesch Collection), Caterina Badan (The Schroder Collection), and Anita Viola Sganzerla (The Katrin Bellinger Collection), and will be moderated by Marie Tavinor, Programme Director of the Royal Academy of Arts’ Executive MA in Cultural Leadership and Co-Chair of The Society for the History of Collecting.

A networking reception will follow the discussion.
