A PhD student at Rome’s Università di Tor Vergata, where she is conducting a monographic research project on Nosadella, Maria Giovanna Donà graduated from Padua University in 2019 with a thesis on Jacopo Bertoia before going on to pursue her studies at the École du Louvre in Paris. She has built up considerable experience in the museum field, collaborating with such prestigious institutions as the Musée du Louvre (Département des Peintures and Département des Arts graphiques) and the Ashmolean Museum in Oxford. She focuses primarily on 16th Bolognese and Emilian art with a special interest in painting and drawing, a field in which she has conducted research and collaborated on specialist projects.
