Dominique Alsina
Art historian specialising in French still-life painting
With a PhD in Art History, the author, Dr. Dominique Alsina, has been researching still-life painting for many years, with a special focus on the exceptional French female artist Louyse Moillon (c. 1610–96).
His academic research over more than twenty years culminated in a doctoral thesis on the artist, followed by a major publication with Editions Faton in 2009, entitled Louyse Moillon. La nature morte au Grand Siècle. Catalog Raisonné.
An acknowledged expert on Louyse Moillon thanks to a number of publications and various entries in auction catalogues, he is an accredited expert with the Court of Appeal and Administrative Court of Appeal of Toulouse and the surrounding region, also holding the post of Assessor with the Commission de Conciliation et d’Expertise Douanière.
