Anna Orlando
Art historian specialising in 17th and 18th century Genoese and Flemish painting
Anna Orlando is an art historian specializing in Genoese and Flemish old master painting. She has solid academic training (Genoa University and the Fondazione Longhi in Florence) and in-depth knowledge of Liguria’s cultural and artistic heritage.
She currently has over 200 publications to her name.
She has built up considerable experience in the field of cultural management in her city since 2000, working on behalf of both public institutions and private-sector concerns.
She is a visiting professor and consultant for auction houses, antique dealers, collectors and foundations both in Italy and abroad.
She has built up a reputation as an exhibition curator since the 1990s.
The most recent major exhibition curated or co-curated by her are “Bernardo Strozzi. La sfida del colore” with D. Sanguineti (Genoa, 2019); “Rubens a Genoa” with N. Büttner (Genoa 2022–3); “Bernardo Strozzi beyond Caravaggio” with G. Koppel (Tallinn, Estonia, 2025); Van Dyck the European with K. Van der Stighelen (Genoa, 2026).
